KING MIDAS AND HIS DAUGHTER TRANSLATE ENGLISH TO HINDI

King Midas lived and ruled a long, long time ago.

There were only two things that he loved.

One was his lovely daughter, and the other was gold.

He had rooms and rooms filled with things made of gold.

But he was never satisfied. He always wanted more gold.

One day, a strange man came to his palace and asked, ‘O King, are you a happy man?’

‘No’, said King Midas. ‘I want more gold.’

‘I’ll give you a gift,’ said the strange man. From now on, everything you touch will turn into gold.’

The king was very pleased. He went around touching things and they turned into gold.

Whatever he touched - chairs, tables, curtains, vases, flowers - turned into gold. He was very happy.

Then, he sat down to eat his lunch. But as soon as he touched his food, it turned into gold.

He tried to drink water, but the water, too, turned into gold.

He got up from the table, hungry and thirsty.

King Midas realized his mistake. Just then, his little daughter came into the room and rushed to him.

Before the king could stop her, she hugged him and lo! She at once turned into a statue of gold.

King Midas wept and wept, but there was nothing he could do.

The stranger came again the next day. ‘You must be very happy now,’ he said.

But the king shook his head sadly. ‘No,’ he said. ‘I have lost everything I loved. I have realized my mistake.’

The stranger was a kind man. He said, ‘Bring water from the river and sprinkle it on everything. You will get back everything you have lost.’

King Midas quickly fetched water from the river. First, he sprinkled it on his daughter and she came back to life.

Then, he sprinkled it on everything around him. He got back his food and water too. He was really happy now.

He thanked the stranger.

राजा मिदास बहुत समय पहले रहते थे और शासन करते थे।

 केवल दो ही चीजें थीं जो उसे प्रिय थीं।

 एक थी उनकी प्यारी बेटी और दूसरी थी सोना.

 उसके पास सोने की बनी चीज़ों से भरे कमरे और कमरे थे।

 उसने जो कुछ भी छुआ - कुर्सियाँ, मेज, पर्दे, फूलदान, फूल - सोने में बदल गए। वह बहुत खुश है।

 फिर, वह दोपहर का खाना खाने के लिए बैठ गया। लेकिन जैसे ही उसने अपने भोजन को छुआ, वह सोने में बदल गया।

 उसने पानी पीने की कोशिश की, लेकिन पानी भी सोने में बदल गया।

 वह भूखा-प्यासा मेज़ से उठ गया।

 राजा मिदास को अपनी गलती का एहसास हुआ। तभी उनकी छोटी बेटी कमरे में आई और दौड़कर उनके पास पहुंची।

 इससे पहले कि राजा उसे रोक पाता, वह उससे लिपट गयी और लो! वह तुरन्त सोने की मूर्ति बन गयी।

 राजा मिदास रोता रहा, रोता रहा, लेकिन वह कुछ नहीं कर सका।

 अगले दिन वह अजनबी फिर आया। उन्होंने कहा, 'अब आप बहुत खुश होंगे।'

 लेकिन राजा ने उदास होकर सिर हिलाया। 'नहीं,' उन्होंने कहा। 'मैंने वह सब कुछ खो दिया है जो मुझे पसंद था। मुझे अपनी गलती का एहसास हो गया है।'

 अजनबी एक दयालु आदमी था. उसने कहा, 'नदी से पानी लाओ और हर चीज़ पर छिड़को। तुम्हें वह सब कुछ वापस मिल जाएगा जो तुमने खोया है।'

 राजा मिदास तुरंत नदी से पानी ले आये। सबसे पहले, उसने इसे अपनी बेटी पर छिड़का और वह जीवित हो गई।

 फिर, उसने इसे अपने आस-पास की हर चीज़ पर छिड़का। उसे अपना भोजन और पानी भी वापस मिल गया। अब वह सचमुच खुश था।

 उसने अजनबी को धन्यवाद दिया।
